Artificial sapphire is made of bauxite (alumina) and mixed with oxygen and hydrogen.
During manufacturing, alumina is first decomposed at a high temperature of 1200 degrees, and then the material reaches a melting point of 2050 degrees. After 15 hours, a rod will be formed. It is fired again at a high temperature of 1800 degrees to ensure the stability of the material.
Next, the diamond polishing blade will cut it to the required thickness, and after polishing, it can be made into an arc or semicircular crystal surface.
After being polished, in order to ensure a tight fit with the watch case, the semi-finished product needs to be further chemically polished.
Immediately afterwards, these sapphire crystals will go to the furnace of the dust-free laboratory, where they will be anti-glare treated by a precision vacuum evaporation process.
The sapphire crystal after anti-glare treatment can reduce 99% of the reflected light entering the naked eye, and the looming blue film plays this role.
